What a most glorious inheritance, the outcome of mercy.
The godly value developed within us
By the Spirit of the Lord Jesus.
As the Lord God cares for us
All loving, forgiving tenderness, is ours!
The goodness of God knows no limits,
For graced goodness is an all loving kindness,
As the holiness of Jesus as Lord and Saviour,
Is shared with us liberally,
According to the Spirit of love industriously at work.
Certainly a glorious, inheritance freely given,
Awaits all who accept Jesus as our Redeemer.
The Divine Healer pours out love over us.
All thanks, all praise, all glory ever be for the †.
The †of the Lord Jesus, our most glorious inheritance now and eternally.
“There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.” (Romans 8 v 1)
“For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.” (Romans 8 v 2)
Come Lord Jesus, chart our course through life by means of Your Spirit, that we do not step out of line, drag our feet, nor run on ahead of You, too quickly.
This is our commonly experienced reality: “This is the law that was at work in me: whenever I wanted to do what is good and right, evil was ready to work in me.” (Romans 7 v 21)
There is no other way to shake off satan from his clever grasp. You are the way, Lord Jesus, for by Your Spirit, the Lord God is with us in You, such an amazing grace and the highest honour, thank You.
Daily we struggle to maintain and extend Your kingdom on earth, because even with God’s law uppermost on our mind and in our willpower, our conscience alerted by the Spirit “...another law was seemingly in charge, urging me to sinful action.” (v 22)
We need help! We need this urgently, and we need it daily, as “I felt there was a kind of war going on within me, a battle I was constantly losing because I was a prisoner of the law of sin...” (v 23)
But Lord Jesus, You came to set us free from this bondage, this slavery to sin. “Was there anyone who could save me from this terrible predicament? Yes, thank God!” (v 24)
It is You, Lord Jesus, Saviour Redeemer, God’s offer of new life to be lived in Your Spirit of holiness. “How wonderful to be liberated now from all the condemnation this continual failure brought.” (Romans 8 v
1 The Truth)
Yes, this is the amazing grace of the freedom from satan, won for us by You, at the †of forgiveness. In You Lord Jesus is the true fulfilment of the demands our Lord God expressed in His laws.
We live in the graced goodness of the glorious inheritance which You accomplished “...so that now we can live as if we had succeeded.” (v 4) This is Your success made ours! What grace, what mercy is at work
here.
No longer need we live in the weakness of our old sinful flesh, but now we can enjoy life led by Your Spirit, a life richly blessed by Your continuous Presence offering us the Lord God’s mercy and love. May You ever be
our focus so we can delight and honour our Father.
When we allow our life to be placed under Your authority and the Holy Spirit’s control, the result is graced godliness, the ability to share in Your holiness, blessed to become a blessing in our turn.
With Your Spirit making You alive in us, may we no longer persist in self indulgence, for in our heart we will want to do what we know is right in God’s sight, that which You make possible.
Your Spirit means new life to us, thank You, enabling us to rule over any lingering sinful desire. May we ever rejoice to be led by the Holy Spirit of love and life.
Lord Jesus, You are everything that is good, honourable, worthy because You are holy and by Your Spirit of love, our faith’s strengthener, we seek to live more in Your way. Please help us as we pray.
Let us live in gladness, our response to Your call to serve. May we serve well having been redeemed and reformed, according to the power of holy love. You are our Divine Healer, and we rejoice!
What glad news our new birth is. May this be shared far and wide as You respond to every prayerful invitation to ask You to come into any situation, nothing too difficult for You, nothing too much of a
problem to solve, nor a dilemma to be fixed.
May we live according to Your intentions to set us free from satan’s clamorous call, his invasion. Coming as a response to an invitation, then please build up our life in Your Spirit, according to our Father’s graced love and mercy, this glorious inheritance we are promised, which is Your fulfilment.
Let us by the Spirit, receive each and every aspect of the peace and prosperity the Lord Jesus, our Father offers us, according to the forgiveness established at Your †of justice, the need for sins’ punishment met.
Please ever be our calm assurance in the firm belief of knowing that all will be well in the end. And in the meantime, let us rejoice to be of service in Your name. the highest, holiest name signifying love.
Thank You for enabling us to not just know about You, but to know You and highly value our personal friendship with You as the Prince of Peace and the King of Glory.
You, Lord Jesus, by Your Spirit, are our life, our love, our faith, our hope, our peace and our joy as we work and pray to grow in Your likeness, remain firm in faith and thereby know our Father.
Thank You so much for our glorious inheritance of all that is “Fine, noble, just, pure, lovely, of good report, of any virtue, and praiseworthy” (Philippians 4 v 8). May this godly quality be apparent, in every life given over to You, Lord Jesus, Redeemer Saviour. Amen.
